My Gossamer Dream: Haiku!

Standard

Dreams

Your alluring eyes

Entangle me in their web

I succumb, willingly

Trampling my feelings

You leave, nonchalantly

I keep on waiting

Besotted by you

I wish for our unison

My gossamer dream

Reminiscing Childhood: Haiku!

Standard

children

Brimming with delight

Pure heart and innocent dreams

Childhood possessions

Bruised knees, pillow fights

The joy of chasing butterflies

Childhood memories

Those magical days

Carefree and pleasurable

I’m reminiscing

Life: Nonnet!

Standard

dark chocolates

Life is a box of dark chocolates

It’s a bittersweet concoction

Having tasted the bitter

Your tongue desires the sweet

Alas! You don’t get

The preference

Of choosing

Only

Sweet

Your Story: Rain!

Standard

Every week Sethsnap posts a pic to write a story or poem or a caption on. Here’s my Haiku attempt on the pic!

Love & Rains: Haiku!

rains

Have a penchant for

Your alluring company

This rainy season

Our love knows no bounds

The joy of intimacy

This rainy season

Let’s celebrate love

The sheer bliss of our closeness

This rainy season

The wind beneath my wings!

Standard

wind wings1

Twinkling eyes

Dreaming to make their connection

Parched lips

Wanting to quench their thirst

Fidgety fingers

Constantly hitting the keyboard

Jumpy feet

Waiting to fly high in the air

Roving mind

Aimlessly trying to find ecstasy

Riveting thoughts

Compelling to create magical fantasy

The ears pining to hear your voice

To redeem myself

For all I expect is

You take me to where we belong

You are the only song I sing

Strumming the guitar

You are the wind beneath my wings

And I’m your full bloomed flower

I read KZ‘s beautiful Haiku post which led me to the challenge being posted by Allaboutlemon. So here’s my entry for the Haiku challenge. It’s my first time trying a Haiku so I maybe a bit off. Oh! well, I tried! :-)

* Edit: I didn’t realize that the challenge was for a specific pic so here’s the pic for the challenge and the Haiku. Didn’t turn out as well, I know :!

haiku

Hey! Polar Bear

Superman here to rescue

You need not worry

Waiting!

Standard

1

A heart that beats

Sporadically

Eyes that have tears

Incessantly

The only change

Between you gone

And I spent waiting

Silent screams

Awaken me

The fragrance of your touch

Gone forever

Stack of clothes

Untouched

Numerous letters

Unopened

The façade of love

Exists no more

Yet

A heart beats

Sporadically

Eyes have tears

Incessantly

The water that drips

The candle that flickers

Bring back memories

Meant to be

Forgotten

The deception

Is a nightmare

The door

To the heart now locked

Forever

The scar

That never heals

Maimed by emotions

Yet

A heart beats

Sporadically

Eyes have tears

Incessantly

The cackle

Of dissonant voices

Fill the room

And all remains

Is a pithy analysis that

Resonates with the soul

Nothing changed

Nothing moved

Amidst the humdrum

Just a different life happened

Waiting

This post is inspired by the Story Challenge: Letter “W” posted by Frizztext. Couldn’t think of any of my stories with W so a poem instead for the pic!

PS: I’ve tried everything but for some reason I’m unable to add any line breaks in between so the poem just reads as one.
