AAA – Challenge!

Standard

A for Aeroplane.. This is the first thing that came to my mind. Maybe because we travelled to Big Island, Hawaii recently and got to see the plane from so close for the first time. Partly due to the fact that the Big Island airport is really small and you see the planes landing and taking off right in front of you. So took a few shots.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable!

Standard

They say life is all about the company one keeps. While some bonds are enforced, others naturally evolve over time. With some you share all your joys and sorrows whilst others barely know you. It’s this extreme contrast that defines the longevity of any relationship.

But above all them, exists a bond so pure and full of unconditional love. A true companion for life – Parent and child.

Until you become a parent you don’t realize the huge responsibility that falls on your shoulders to raise another human being. And until a child grows up, doesn’t realize that no matter how old you get you can always count on your parents. A child blossoms under the parents’ guidance and parents pride in their child’s success. Life comes a full circle in the end.

And as much as I love my family and shine in their company, I also love being in the company of the ocean waves and the setting sun. Something so serene about it that it calms me down instantly. If this isn’t companionable then what is?

Weekly Photo Challenge: The World Through My Eyes!

Standard

The world through my eyes is mostly a bird’s-eye view while our plane hovers over Maui, making its way to Big island in Hawaii, where we went for a vacation few weeks back.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Home!

Standard

As clichéd as it sounds, home is where the heart is. Indeed. But my heart is a conflicted organ.

While a major chunk of my heart is where my family and loved ones are. So, home means being with family, wherever they are – out in the wilderness or in the comforts of four walls.

A piece of my heart, a wanderer, is where my peace of mind is. So, home for my wandering heart means either soaring high in the sky amidst the dancing clouds or finding solace in the lap of the majestic mountains, far far away.

Is where I reside

And that’s my home

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unique!

Standard

Few years back, we visited the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon and the countless variety of roses over there blew us away. Some were familiar colors while others were unique (for us) and our excitement knew no bounds. Every time I look at these pics and the amazing colors, especially the twin colored roses, I’m mesmerized by them.

And this week’s Photo Challenge seems very befitting for these pics, at least I think so and that’s all that matters! :-) I do know that there’s nothing unique about a red rose but I feel it’s unfair to talk about roses and forget the red rose (universally accepted expression of love).

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love!

Standard

Love is the theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge and here’s my interpretation:

There’s nothing more pure, soothing, unconditional, delightful, beautiful, magical, and surreal than a mother’s love. And you realize it more only when you become one. It’s a bond for lifetime and not a day, week, month or year.

“A mother’s love is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, it never fails or falters, even though the heart is breaking.”  – Helen Rice

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond!

Standard

The Photo Challenge this week is looking for the interpretation of “Beyond”. Few years back we visited the Bryce National Park in Utah. With no preconceived notion about the park, we were pleasantly surprised to see the bright orange, red and white rock formations in all its glory. Needless to say, it was way beyond our expectations! :-) Here are a few pics:-
